  • It covers an area of 283 square kilometers and has a population of about 100,000 people.

  • The constituency is made up of three wards: Wamagana, Dedan Kimathi and Aguthi-Gaaki

  • Tetu constituency takes pride in nurturing historical figures such as Dedan Kimathi Waciuri, Muthoni Kirima, and Nobel laureate Wangari Maathai.

  • Tetu Constituency has a diverse economy, with agriculture being the main economic activity. The area is known for producing crops such as coffee, tea, maize, and beans. Other economic activities in the area include trading, manufacturing, and tourism.

  • In terms of infrastructure, the constituency enjoys a very good road network with Mau Mau roads in Dedan Kimathi, Nyeri-Nairobi highway which traverses through Aguthi-Gaaki ward and the proposed Ndunyu Njeru-Ihithe Mau Mau lot 4 road which will connect Nyeri and Nyandarua.

  • The MP for Tetu Constituency is Hon. Geoffrey Mwangi Wandeto, who was elected in 2022. He has a 10-point agenda manifesto for Tetu which prioritizes on education, agriculture, youth, men & women empowerment, infrastructure, support of SMEs/traders, growth of urban centers, health and support of vulnerable communities.
